Nunney Castle, Frome
Almost a fairytale castle, Nunney dates from 1373. It was the dream of an upwardly mobile knight who had returned from The Hundred Years War against the French, of course! Later, it was slighted by Cromwell’s merry Ironsides, and is now a beautiful ruin within a picturesque moat. Definitely worth a visit, and on the way to the famous Georgian city of Bath. Never mind The Topless Towers of Illium, what about the topless towers of Nunney?
